Of the six-day agreement, it was now the fourth day.

The dark clouds outside still hadn’t dispersed, and wind and rain rampaged recklessly without restraint. In the dorm room, only a small flashlight emitted a faint glow.

Tang Tang’s guess had been correct. Given the room’s location, most people who rushed out of the tenth floor during these two days would pass right by their door.

Inevitably, in the midst of the fighting, their dorm door would be caught in the crossfire.

*Bang!*

It was nearing noon, Tang Tang had no idea how many waves of people this was, nor how many times the poor door had been innocently slammed against.

“I’m afraid our dorm door isn’t going to survive much longer.”

She was still holding her post by the window, stabbing zombies while sighing.

What were they supposed to do?!

What were they supposed to do now?!

She glanced at the window, which had grown even more broken than yesterday. Waves of cold wind and rain poured in through the large hole, slapping harshly against her face.

Not only was her vision blurred, but her eyes stung painfully.

“If the dorm door doesn’t hold, then we’re truly done for,” Yan Chen replied upon hearing Tang Tang’s voice.

“No, no, didn’t you say before that we shouldn’t be negative?”

Tang Tang was sensitive to phrases like “done for.” Hearing him say that, she quickly shook her head.

“We need to think of something. We need to come up with a plan and get through this stage!”

“What kind of plan? My mind is a complete mess right now. I can’t think of anything at all.”

Yan Chen took a moment to wipe his face and suggested, “How about we carry the three of them and charge out? Anyway, at the rate things are going, once the dorm door breaks, we’re definitely done for. Might as well go out and fight for a chance, maybe we’ll survive.”

“Look at how frail I am, who among them could I possibly carry?”

Tang Tang screamed in despair internally. If she could carry them, she’d scoop them up and run!

But that wasn’t realistic, look at her skinny arms and legs!

She deeply regretted not exercising more regularly when she had the chance, since she couldn’t go back. Maybe then it would come in handy now.

Yan Chen glanced at her, then seemed to just remember, and sighed: “Right, you’re right.”

Although the idea didn’t sound very realistic, Tang Tang couldn’t help but mull it over as she watched the glass hole grow ever larger and heard the continuous thuds against the dorm door.

She couldn’t carry them, but could she find a way to move the three of them without carrying?

With that thought, she turned her head slightly and glanced at the three people in the room.

Since they were very restless, always trying to bang their heads against things and pound things with their hands, she and Yan Chen had tied them to the desk together. At the moment, only their heads and feet were free.

Tang Tang stabbed down two more zombies, pausing to wipe her face.

Then she watched helplessly as two new zombies crawled up to the spot where the previous two had just been stabbed down. Tang Tang pursed her lips.

They couldn’t keep going like this.

They still didn’t know when Jiang Zhu and the other two would wake up, but because the window had broken so wide, she and Yan Chen had been so busy they hadn’t eaten all morning.

On top of that, wind and rain kept sweeping over them. Now that it was spring, the season when colds were common, they might die here from any number of causes before the others even awakened their abilities.

Tang Tang made a huge decision before stomping her foot hard.

It startled Yan Chen.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“I’ve decided. I’ll go with your idea. We’re going to make a run for it!”

“Huh??”

Yan Chen’s eyes widened. “Can you carry them? At most, I can only carry two people!”

Tang Tang shook her head. “No, no, we don’t need to carry them. We’ll find a way to drag them along.”

“Drag them along?”

A thought suddenly came to Yan Chen. “Are we going to drag them on the ground? Or like before, grab them by the collars? But they’re too restless right now, they’d be hard to drag.”

“Besides, there are zombies waiting outside. We can’t tie up both hands; we need one hand free to deal with them.”

Tang Tang nodded.

“I’ll explain the details to you later. First, let’s figure out how to fix this window.”

Tang Tang handed over the entire task of holding the window to Yan Chen and turned to run back into the room.

She dashed over to the bed, threw off the blanket in one swift motion, revealing the wooden boards underneath. Then she grabbed a fruit knife and began prying the boards off one by one.

She planned to use the boards to temporarily block the window. It might not work well, but survival was the priority now, every extra moment counted.

Although she was fairly quick at prying off the boards, and two boards didn’t take long, when she tried to lift them down, she gave up after testing it. So she ran back to the window and swapped positions with Yan Chen.

Yan Chen didn’t say much. He quickly carried the two boards she had pried off and moved them to the window.

“We’ll stand the wooden boards upright, two of them should be just enough to cover the window,” Tang Tang said, having already calculated their width.

They first placed a board over the hole, then set another one on top, and finally adjusted the position. Yan Chen went back to the dormitory and brought out another large table.

Unfortunately, the table wasn’t tall enough. Tang Tang glanced at the area above where the table didn’t press down, and the boards wobbled precariously under the zombies’ attacks.

Some zombies, with surprisingly sharp observation, even managed to shove their hands through the gaps between the two boards, sending a chill down everyone’s spine.

“Let’s leave it like this for now. We should get ready to deal with the three of them,” Tang Tang said, walking in first.

Time was precious to them right now, not a single second could be wasted. She already had a rough idea in mind, but there were two options, and she needed to ask Yan Chen’s opinion first.

“We still have two bed boards left. We could tie them up tightly from head to toe onto the boards, cover them with quilts, and then drag them away,” Tang Tang said, pointing at the two remaining intact beds.

“The other option is to just drag them out on the chairs they’re sitting on,” she added, gesturing to the chairs the three were currently in.

Yan Chen couldn’t help but admire her creativity.

Still, he had to ask, “So which one should we pick?”

“Both have their pros and cons. For example, the bed board’s advantage is that since they’re tied up completely, they won’t be able to squirm and interfere with us on the way, but it might be a bit inconvenient when we need to run.”

Yan Chen nodded.

Tang Tang continued, “As for the chairs, it’s the exact opposite.”
