Even as a human, his little dragon is just as adorable.

A dragon without scales writhed in pain on a deserted mountain of gold coins, its skin, a soft hue of white tinged with green, continuously cracked open as black scales rapidly emerged. The newly formed scales grew too swiftly, leaving no time for the skin and scales to adjust, causing blood to seep out from beneath the scales.

Initially, the new scales were soft, but they quickly hardened. At this moment, the small dragon, only the size of two gold coins, began to inflate like a balloon. The giant dragon grew larger and larger, crushing the piles of gold coins, a Ferris wheel, and an amusement park. When its tail, over a hundred meters long, swept across the Bamboo Valley, it suddenly stiffened, twisting with force in the opposite direction and collapsing a roller coaster.

The dragon continued to grow, now almost the size of three mountain maps of gold coins. The entire mountain of gold coins was crushed into oblivion, except for the Bamboo Valley, which remained untouched by the dragon’s tail.

Fortunately, the game company, to isolate this game-destroying dragon, placed the Golden Coin Amusement Park in a remote corner of the celestial realm. According to the game’s setting, eighteen demonic gods were sealed within this realm, which was an endless void with an infinitely vast area. Currently, the dungeon of the eighteen demonic gods was not yet open, and the company planned to unlock this celestial realm dungeon at level 150. Therefore, apart from a mountain of gold coins, there was only infinite darkness here, and players were teleported directly to the mountain of gold coins.

The game company’s decision to place the mountain of gold coins in the heart of the celestial realm was understandable, given the dragon’s disruptive nature. Throwing it into the sealing site of the eighteen demonic gods seemed inconsequential. And for the chubby dragon, this was exactly what he wanted. By closing the gates of the Golden Coin Amusement Park and stopping teleportation, no players would disturb his transformation.

A single mountain of gold coins could not contain the soon-to-be-adult Kirates, but the celestial realm, claimed to be infinitely vast, could. In this void, the body of Pang Kirates expanded continuously, eventually becoming as large as a quarter of the Earth, its body lying in the ocean filling the Pacific, with the Bamboo Valley reduced to the size of a single tip of his tail.

For Kirates to transform into a human, he must compress all this vast energy within his body, allowing the energy to react among the molecules, enduring a painful process to achieve a qualitative leap.

The physical and mental anguish during this period was beyond human comprehension, with many young Kirates dying in the process of transformation, unable to withstand the pain due to insufficient mental strength. Feng Lianzhu could help the chubby dragon accumulate energy for the task, but the pain of transformation was something Pang Kirates must endure himself.

Only by withstanding the energy capable of destroying worlds could one become a species strong enough to contend with the universe.

Pang Kirates curled up in pain, his long tail curling to his chin, his small front paws, in comparison to his body, hugging the tip of his tail, making a “roar” sound from his throat. He suppressed his cries of pain, biting down on his teeth, refusing to shout.

If he were alone, Pang Kirates might have roared loudly enough to shake the heavens and earth, a roar that could travel from the celestial realm to the nearest celestial palace, likely killing all the players inside without them even knowing how they died.

However, Pang Kirates knew that Feng Lianzhu, upon returning to the game world, would be able to watch the video playback and see the embarrassing footage of him crying in pain during his evolution. The chubby dragon did not want to be seen in such a state.

He is a Kirates, the strongest species in the universe, the greatest warrior of Feng Lianzhu and the Primitive Star, always powerful, invincible, and certainly not one to cry in pain.

The scales began to detach from the body, the final step in transforming into human form. The scales, once protecting the body, now must peel off entirely, a pain akin to being flayed alive.

The tip of Pang Kirates’s tail throbbed with pain, his front paws unable to hold the tail, his limbs uncontrollable by his mind, the pain rendering him unable to think clearly.

He must be dying, the memories inherited from his birth told him that if he could not control his body at this moment if his spirit was not strong enough to overcome the pain, he would die. Now that his limbs were immobile, death seemed certain.

“I’ll wait for you to come of age.” The gentle long-haired man in the video smiled at him.

It’s not a fake smile, but one filled with sincerity and anticipation. Pang Kirates, perched on bamboo, thought to himself that this man had a beautiful smile.

He planned to plant bamboo on every planet he visited.

“Roar!!!!” Pang Kirates’s eyes, tightly closed, suddenly snapped open. He released his tail and stretched his body into the void, his massive dragon wings enveloping his entire body, blocking out the thunderous roar, not allowing a single sound to escape.

“Crack,” “pop,” the sound of scales detaching filled the air. Golden light shone through the gaps in the dragon’s scales, piercing the barrier of the celestial realm, and illuminating the game world’s night.

Players looked up at the sky, bright as daylight, and started discussing.

“What’s this about? The game company finally had some peace for a couple of months, and now what?”

“Must be gearing up for a ten-day event, right? Isn’t the Mid-Autumn Festival coming up? Mid-Autumn Festival event?”

“What’s a ten-day event? Isn’t it a Mid-Autumn Festival event?”

“You don’t know? Who came up with the Mid-Autumn Festival? Chang’e! And who’s Chang’e’s husband? Hou Yi! And what did Hou Yi do? Shoot down the suns! How many suns were there in the sky at that time? Ten! So, for the Mid-Autumn Festival, Hou Yi taking nine suns to the sky to find his wife is perfectly normal, right?”

“โ€ฆYour imagination is really something.”

Among the players’ discussions, the golden light gradually faded, and the immense energy did not leak outward, avoiding damage to the game’s servers and players’ internet devices, and causing no severe harm to players connected both spiritually and through the network.

It obediently contracted, becoming smaller and smaller, and as the sky returned to darkness, a beam of golden light fell in the remaining Bamboo Valley of the Golden Coin Amusement Park.

In the bamboo forest, a man with a black buzz cut, nearly 1.9 meters tall, with proportions like those out of the golden ratio, opened his eyes to see a pile of black clothes in front of him.

These clothes, formed from the completely shed scales, changed style according to the thoughts of the Kirates dragon. At this stage, the scales did not yet possess the capability to become a battleship; that would only be possible in the fifth stage of transformation.

The man with the buzz cut and deep blue eyes stared at the pile of clothes, extending his front paws to hook them closer, only to find his arms stretched longer than expected!

Looking at his elongated arms, he jumped up energetically, landing on the ground only to trip over his own feet after taking a few steps.

Without a tail, his sense of balance was off, requiring adjustment.

The man decided not to stand up but instead crawled on all fours to the clothes. He donned the black long coat and sleeves, convenient for movement. At this stage, the scales were very fragile. If unable to return to dragon form, even a small knife could pierce through the scale-made clothes.

Slowly standing up, the man leaned on a bamboo stalk to walk to the river by the Bamboo Valley, looking at his reflection in the water. His stern appearance was nothing like Feng Lianzhu’s, and the black clothes lacked the flowing elegance of a long robe.

With a thought, he changed into a golden scale armor. This time, the golden armor transformed into a long coat gleaming with scale light, akin to the golden winged roc skin of Feng Lianzhu.

Tilting his head left, then right, the man examined his reflection, somewhat satisfied with his clothing.

The buzz cut did not match his attire, but the man was not bothered by this detail. Touching his head, he felt a slight aversion to the shortness of his hair. As a dragon, he had no hair, a look he found appealing.

Completely unaware of any issues with his sense of aesthetics, Pang Kirates practiced walking in the bamboo forest. He imitated Feng Lianzhu’s walking posture, graceful and serene, with every step stirring the breeze, lifting his hair and sleeves, as picturesque as could be.

After several hours, breathless from exertion, he could only walk without falling, far from the grace he remembered.

Frustrated, the man punched his thigh, wincing from the pain after striking hard.

How could hitting oneself hurt! He never used to feel pain before.

ใ€Congratulations to the host Pang Kirates on transforming into human form, realizing “Vulnerability,” and earning ten thousand points. “Fragility” in human form will persist until full maturity is reached. During this period, please, host, deeply contemplate.ใ€‘

Upon seeing the system’s message, Pang Kirates’s first thought was joy over earning another ten thousand points, good for a ten-minute call. These points were his own earnings; Feng Lianzhu surely won’t be upset!

In the Alliance Science Academy, Feng Lianzhu, having just finished a day’s work and returned to his room for rest, received a system notification: ใ€Host Pang Kirates requests a video call. Accept?ใ€‘

Feng Lianzhu, an intern researcher at the academy, not responsible for significant research and thus less subject to secrecy, still retained his privacy rights. His room was free from surveillance. Once involved in confidential projects, every space, including bedrooms and bathrooms, was monitored to prevent any possible leaks.

Fortunately, Feng Lianzhu was currently free to maintain video contact with Pang Kirates.

Upon accepting the request as usual, instead of the eagerly anticipated little golden dragon, a video appeared showing a man in golden clothing with a buzz cut, sharp eyes, defined features, and a prominent nose, exuding a cold demeanor.

Feng Lianzhu was stunned by the sight.

“Roar! Cough, cough,” the man with the buzz cut coughs lightly, positioning his hands as if embracing something, and said in Chinese, “Feng Lianzhu, it’s me, Pang Kirates. I’ve become human.”

Speaking rather fluently.

Feng Lianzhu, unprepared to face Pang Kirates’s human form, felt somewhat uncomfortable and at a loss for words. The little white-bellied dragon he adored had transformed into a stranger in human form.

He examined the man, focusing on his hands. What did this gesture mean? What was he trying to convey?

Recalling the chubby dragon’s habitual actions, Feng Lianzhu started to see the overlap between the dragon and human forms and realized, “Are you holding your tail with your hands?”

He remembered the chubby dragon would hug his tail when nervous and, if overly excited, would even bite the tip of his tail.

The man’s face turned red, and let go of his hands, he said with a flat expression, “I will try my best to adapt to human form.”

“Your face is red,” Feng Lianzhu reached out, passing his hand through the video’s projection, expressing regret, “Too bad I can’t touch it.”

Previously, it was the belly that turned red. How did becoming human turn the face red? What exactly is the principle behind Kirates’s transformation? Feng Lianzhu, working on biological genetic engineering at the Science Academy, couldn’t help but ponder.

Pang Kirates saw Feng Lianzhu extending his hand and also reached out, hoping to grasp it. Unfortunately, the figure they see of each other was but a projection, intangible.

The chubby dragon looked down at his hand, disappointed. Feng Lianzhu suddenly felt this might be better; when the chubby dragon was a little golden dragon, his expressions were hidden beneath scales, and one could only guess his mood from his actions. Now, his emotions were plainly visible on his face.

“You look very handsome, striking,” Feng Lianzhu said.

The chubby dragon’s face instantly turned red, the blush spreading down his neck. Feng Lianzhu wondered if his belly might also be red now. Was the red belly actually a sign that his whole body turned red, but it only showed on his belly?

“Can I see your belly? Is it red?” Feng Lianzhu asked involuntarily.

The man’s deep blue eyes were filled with shock, seemingly unable to believe Feng Lianzhu would say such a thing.

Realizing his blunder, Feng Lianzhu coughed lightly and said sternly, “This is my first time seeing a Kirates transform. I’m just curious.”

“Oh.” The chubby dragon pulled at his collar, glanced down, and honestly replied, “It’s red.”

Feng Lianzhu turned his face away to hide his smile.

Even as a human, his little dragon was just as adorable.

Author’s Note:

Feng Lianzhu: Oh no, I can’t help but flirt with the dragon madly.

Sorry for the slight delay today. There will be another update before 12 tonight, muah (ใฅ๏ฟฃ3๏ฟฃ)ใฅโ•ญโค๏ฝž

A shoutout to my dear friend Lang Yan’s new football novel, “Buy One Get One Free in La Liga,” by Lang Yan, the author of “The Shadow Striker.” It’s a fantastic new football story, highly recommended! For fans of sports novels, don’t miss out~
