Idol Chapter 126

They decided to split up and act at four in the afternoon.

One team drove to the University of Electronic Science and Technology to make the second lamp, while another team searched for a covert stronghold. After the tasks were completed, they would regroup at a location marked by goldfish grass decorations in this block.

The garage had been modified before, with a rudimentary but functional shower and dressing room.

When Huo Ren entered, he immediately noticed a person with triangle eyebrows and purple hair in a striking style, almost getting scared off by the mirror.

Bo Jue woke up, hurriedly took a shower, and re-tied his long hair securely.

They changed their makeup and clothes again, with four of them dressing as small businessmen in suits and leather shoes, and two as ordinary office workers.

Ordinary businessmen’s attire doesn’t need to be too flashy. With good cigarettes in their pockets, a smile on their face that shows they can do the math, and blurring their profound features to amplify flaws and reduce attractiveness, the effect was already good enough.

Mei Shengyao and Chi Ji had too strong a youthful appearance, making their disguises less effective. They simply changed into baseball shirts and long sweatshirts, following Huo Ren and the others on the streets from a not-too-close but not-too-distant distance. Their facial features were finely modified, making them look handsome and sunny but not like their real selves.

โ€”All the makeup was suitable thanks to the meticulous training before their company debut, as well as the ample experience accumulated from “The Crown Dressing Room.”

“See you later.”

“Uh-huh, you guys be careful too.”

Huo Ren led the team out again, wandering through the bustling commercial streets several times.

Then, in a small alley, they found a Western restaurant that was quiet and seemingly struggling.

Due to poor business, the restaurant had only symbolically employed two waiters, who were idly daydreaming at the moment.

He observed the bespectacled, chubby owner next to the counter several times before walking in with Bo Jue, carrying a briefcase.

Owner Zhou was worried about having no customers on a big weekend and whether to keep the restaurant open. Seeing two customers who didn’t look like big eaters but could still add to the headcount, he rushed over before the waiter could say anything.

“Good afternoon! What would you like to eat? It’s tea time now, how about some coffee, milk tea, tiramisu, or soufflรฉ?”

Huo Ren actually kept up with his pace, politely saying, “Sorry, we’re not here to eat.”

The owner’s spirits fell in a second, struggling to maintain a smile, “We also have a new strawberry bubble milkโ€ฆ”

Bo Jue nodded, “One bubble milk, one mocha, and a stuffed waffle, please.”

The owner was overjoyed, “Did you hear that? Go make itโ€”WeChat or Alipay?”

Huo Ren didn’t answer, opening the briefcase right in front of him.

Inside were stacks of real, undeniable currency from their country.

Owner Zhou was stunned for a few seconds, suddenly feeling a panic towards the unknown, stepping back and asking, “You guys want toโ€ฆ”

“Don’t be nervous.” Bo Jue unfolded a newspaper, showing him the entertainment headline and a color photo of six people: “Do you recognize this?”

Owner Zhou squinted at it for a while, shaking his head, “Not really familiar.”

“I know a bit about this group, but I don’t usually watch stuff for little girls.” He first looked at the bald customer who spoke decently but had an odd appearance, then pointed at Mei Shengyao holding a plush cat in the newspaper, “The one I’m most familiar with is this one.”

He used to skip breakfast in junior high and save money desperately for weeks just to scrape together enough for a ticket to Mei Heng’s concert.

Later, as he went to college and started working, he bought many copies of all the CDs he listened to during his youth. Naturally, he also attended several concerts, finding himself in the front row and leaving each time with tears streaming down his face.

“I’ve always liked Mei Heng, so after he had a child, I also kept up with Mei Shengyao’s activitiesโ€””

Before Owner Zhou could finish, Huo Ren suddenly gestured towards the window outside.

A pair of young men suddenly appeared diagonally across, briskly running inside.

Just then, the waiter brought up the sweet milk and mocha.

Bo Jue passed the coffee to Chi Ji, “Your favorite, one spoon of sugar and three swirls of chocolate sauce.”

Chi Ji gratefully smiled, “Brother Jue is the best to me.”

Owner Zhou instantly recognized his idol’s beloved son, now barely able to close his mouth, “He looks likeโ€””

Mei Shengyao took the newspaper, holding it in front of the four of them, and quickly asked, “What about the four of us?”

“You four!!” Owner Zhou still couldn’t believe the reality, “Could it really be!!”

Bo Jue emotionlessly removed the bald cap and let his long hair fall down like a waterfall.

Zhou Ji compared the four of them to the ones in the poster back and forth over a dozen times, then covered his mouth and screamed at a high decibel level.

“It’s actually them!! Alive!!!”

“Alive Mei Shengyao!!!”

The two waiters timidly approached, trying to get a closer look. Bo Jue smiled lightly and waved them over to sit down and chat.

“The situation is, we are participating in this program and hope to rent your restaurant as our base for these three days,” Huo Ren earnestly said. “We can only pay the rent in cash, but after the program airs, it should be able to help you…”

Zhou Ji ran to the counter to find a notebook, asking the four of them to take turns signing autographs: “Are you really being wanted? Our store’s cameras have been broken for three months and haven’t been replaced, so there definitely won’t be a problem!”

Huo Ren’s starting point was simple.

They needed ample fresh water and food, a sufficiently hidden hiding spot, and the most easily overlooked identity cover by the police.

The four warehouses were likely to be tracked and searched, so they couldn’t serve as places for accommodation and rest.

However, no one would pay attention to the appearance of a back kitchen chef.

Even if you go to the same McDonald’s or Yonghe Soy Milk a dozen times, customers might not know the situation in the back kitchen, or whether the cook is male or female. That was already enough.

Owner Zhou’s Western restaurant was in a quiet and remote location, making it an excellent choice since they could avoid cameras with hats and disguises when entering and exiting.

After a few words of explanation, Owner Zhou resolutely pushed a large bag of cash out.

“No need for rent! I would be grateful if you could advertise for me!”

He looked at Mei Shengyao, not bothering to ask how the production team intended to use them, repeating for the ten thousandth time: “I reallyโ€”really like your dad’s songs. I bought ten copies of his new album last year and gave one to each of my good buddies on my birthday to commemorate our youthโ€””

Mei Shengyao, drinking his strawberry milk, nodded obediently: “I’ll pass the message to my dad.”

Zhou Ji felt like he was dreaming to see his idol’s beloved son up close, rubbing his face and saying, “You really look like him, very much…”

Even if the two waiters were slacking off at work, they now found themselves excited to be close to celebrities and hear gossip, suddenly filled with enthusiasm.

They held a brief meeting and decided to keep the restaurant open as usual but close the second floor to the public, reserving it as a resting area for the six of them.

The waiters even handed over their phones to them, gratefully accepting thank you money and not hesitating to buy a new iPhone 7.

Huo Ren finally had a means of communication and breathed a sigh of relief. When he saw a small wooden puppet by the display window, he thought of something and turned to Owner Zhou: “Please do me another favor.”

On the other side, Xie Lianyun drove through most of Lin Du, occasionally touching his fake beard.

Men’s clothing was better. Women’s clothing with those two lumps of chest always swayed uncontrollably, making walking uncomfortable.

Long Jia continued to sleep next to him, occasionally shifting his position on the seat.

“Hey.”

“Hey, wake up.”

“Huh?”

“Straighten your hair, we’re almost there.” Xie Lianyun, steering with one hand, handed him a wooden comb from the side: “Your hair should be combed smooth like a decent person, don’t leave the bangs fluffy. Put away your flashy appearance.”

Long Jia clicked his tongue, offering little resistance.

Two confused-looking white-collar workers got out of the business car, asking for directions a few times before finding the right place.

Fortunately, things progressed very smoothly.

Dean Ye was in her office, and before Xie Lianyun could introduce himself, she shook the teacup in her hand: “That beard of yours is a bit crooked.”

Xie Lianyun: …!

“Please have a seat, there’s a chair here.”

“Okay… okay.”

“I’ve seen you guys, many times.” The female dean calmly sipped her tea and continued to type emails: “Last summer, my daughter begged to fly to your concert, and this year when you didn’t win the crown, she cried so much her grandma thought I was scolding her again.”

The two young idols suddenly felt a rush of being scolded by a head teacher.

Even the covertly filming photographer unconsciously stood up straighter.

“Later, she worked hard to become the top student in her grade, and I accompanied her on the flight to Shi Du,” she paused her typing for a few seconds and turned to look at Xie Lianyun, “We bought front-row tickets, and then my daughter called you ‘husband’ right in front of me.”

Xie Lianyun broke out in cold sweat, managing a dry, “Sor… Sorry about that.”

“There’s nothing to apologize for, it’s just that the summer homework wasn’t challenging enough.” Professor Ye hit the enter key and turned her chair to discuss business with them, “What brings you to Lin Du suddenly, making a show? Do you need help from our faculty?”

Long Jia, who had been waiting for his cue, quickly presented the lamp.

Professor Ye pushed her glasses up and examined the lamp’s structure.

Xie Lianyun hurriedly explained the program rules and the function of the lamp, with a polite tone, “If you’re too busy…”

“I do have a paper to finish, so I indeed don’t have the time,” Professor Ye said leisurely, “But this should be simple.”

She made a call in front of them, “Class monitor? You failed that class because you slept through it, right? Here’s a chance for a make-up.”

Within ten minutes, a student rushed in, “Dean Ye, please let me explainโ€””

Dean Ye tapped on the lamp, “See this?”

After receiving the “imperial decree” from Dean Ye, the class monitor quickly moved them to the next lab, pulled out a toolbox, and dismantled the distance lamp in no time, connecting it to a computer and typing away rapidly.

“Lucky you came today,” he said, looking at the long string of characters on the screen, “If you had come any later…”

“What would have happened?”

“The lamp would’ve run out of battery.” The class monitor pointed at the battery indicator, “If I charge it up for you and then add an interface for a power bank, Dean Ye should be able to give me a B+ right?”
